FUNDING
Penticton SAR welcomes your financial support. The team currently receives funding and support from the City of Penticton, however depends heavily on corporate, private sector and personal donations to supplement our training and equipment budgets. Equipment to support search and rescue operations must comply with industry regulations including replacement and life expectancy cycles to ensure safety and efficiency. A large part of the team's budget is committed to the ongoing replacement of this vital equipment including: communications, rope rescue, and medical and safety equipment.
The team has completed a major funding grant through the federal government's National Initiatives Fund (NIF) to upgrade and replace communications equipment and provide incident management training. This allows us to maintain a leadership role in SAR Operations regionally while providing operational support to many other SAR Teams, communities and agencies.
